Machine-readable claim

A machine-readable claim is a statement about a product structured so that its category, subject, scope and evidence can be extracted without inference.

In practice this means the claim states what the product is, who it is for, what it replaces, what it asserts and what supports the assertion — explicitly, rather than by implication across several paragraphs.

Machine-readable vs. clear writing

Prose can be perfectly clear to a human and still require inference a machine will not reliably perform.

Humans resolve ambiguity by drawing on context the page never states. Extraction systems do not, and they fail silently when they cannot.

Why it matters

Extraction failure and disagreement look identical from the outside. Both end with the company not appearing in the answer.

Which means a vendor can lose on legibility while believing it lost on merit, and respond by making a stronger case rather than a clearer one.
